    Toyo 45A stiff focus rack

Just wondering if anyone can help with advice on freeing up or removing the focusing rack on a toyo 45A.
The rack is very stiff and hard to turn the focus knobs to the point it sometimes skips on the gears.
Not keen to use it too much in case I damage it.
Have tried flushing the slide groves with lighter fluid to remove old grease. seemed to improve straight after, but back to how it was.
I'm thinking of dismantling the rack to get in and fully clean / check.
What is the best way to do this?
    Cheers
    Peter

Have you checked the focus tension tab to make sure is is loose. Someone may have applied a little too much tension, I do that sometimes when I have a heavy lens on and am pointing the camera downward.
