    Big glass plates weigh more.

    What is the thickness of the plates? I'm asking to ascertain if they will fit existing plate holders that were common around the early 20th century.

    If these things are reasonably priced, I'm a likely buyer. I do have a 5x7, and would consider buying an 8x10 if cost was reasonable. I'm very interested in dry plate.

    Dear Mike,
    Smaller than 8x10, they are 1.5mm thickness(1.42mm actually).
    I suggested bigger than 8x10, such as 11x14, using 2mm glass.
    Don't worry about the size.
    They are standard.

    Interesting, thanks Pierre. I guess the coating line was made by T H Dixon in Letchworth here in the UK, they are the specialists in this field and made the coating lines for Ilford and Kentmere and presumably Kodak as well. They were taken over by Emerson & Renwick in 2002.

    The price of 912 is about USD30.3 per pack.
    12 plates will be in 3-month promotion period.
    The price of 8x10 is about USD121.20 per pack.
