    Smoke Damage to Photo Equipment

I have an elderly friend that was unfortunate to have a fire seriously damage hi s house and darkroom. The associated smoke has taken its toll on his photo colle ction he has put together over the years - both large and medium format and 35mm . Has anyone a suggestion as to who you would recommend to clean the equipment u p and remove the smell ? Thanks in advance.

    Smoke Damage to Photo Equipment

Where are you based? Both Munters and BMS Catastrophe specialise in restoring fire/smoke damaged property, as does Relectronic-Remech. Your local Insurer should be able to give you contact names. It is important to get the gear into dehumidified storage as quickly as possible, otherwise corrosion steps in. Hope this helps.
