    Beseler Color Drum Leak Repair

I had a leaky 11x14 and 8x10 Beseler color drum. The lid developed a crack over time on the inner ring by the notch.

I bought some flowable silicone from the auto parts store (windshield repair) and it did the trick. I removed the lid, cleaned and dried it thoroughly and put it on the bench up side down. I then filled the groove up to the bottom of the notch. I only filled the area where the crack was and about 2" each way.

I let it cure over night and have been using it since. It worked so well I did both ends of my 8x10 and 11x14 drums with one $8 tube of "Versa Chem" flowable Silicone.

This stuff is flexible and did not change the way the lid fits the drum.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, it is not a glue, is a sealant, right?

Correct, a flowable, self leveling sealant....... rain ready in 1 hour and a full cure in 24 hours.
