Article featuring my 11x14 camera build

I was asked to share my thoughts on the 11x14 camera that I built recently and the article on the camera was just posted today. Hope you enjoy it!

That's great, and looks pretty light, relatively speaking! I have to say, I did laugh when I read "I am guilty of often just staring at the ground glass (sometimes even for hours)" You must have a lot of free time!

    Congratulations!

I am starting down the same path. Is there anything you would change in your design?

Re: Article featuring my 11x14 camera build

    Thank you everyone!

Randy - One thing I wish I did differently was that I made this is a dedicated 11x14 camera vs. trying to make it a universal camera for up to 14x17 backs. The reason for this is that I will mostly shoot 11x14 and making the camera to this size would have made it smaller and lighter. I want to be able to hike a few miles with this similar to my 8x10 kit but I haven't had much success finding a backpack which will fit this.

Other than that it is possibly too big for most of my needs, I would pretty much keep everything exactly the same since the design is flexible and camera is relatively light. Looking forward to seeing your build!

This is affirming for me: I wavered on this for a while, but I'm going with a dedicated 11x14 size. And I want to hike a bit, so I'm glad to hear this! Rear standard almost done...

Good advice. I too wanted both sizes. I will make mine 11x14.

My bellows are being shipped tomorrow.

Pali, look for aMEI backpack as that is what I use for my 11x14.
