Teflon will be good. You could also try a very light sewing machine oil. My camera repair technician uses it for the rollers in my Rolleiflex and Hasselblad film transports. Probably with all, use it sparingly. Use a hypodermic needle to control application.

Aluminium/Aluminum surfaces oxidise almost immediately they are exposed to air. The oxide protects the surface and disturbing it is not a good idea. Grinding wheels are made with AlOx.
Clean it with an organic solvent like zippo fluid/petrol/acetone so it is spotless (cotton buds are helpful) and treat it with a dry film lube that contains Fluon/Teflon/PTFE (all the same thing) and doesn't leave a sticky residue.
Your local bicycle shop is likely to stock something suitable.

Yours must be the model just before the added the zerk fittings for lubing? Once they added it we all got or Technikas lubed each time we did the car... only cost an extra 75cents.
