The Blackfork Bestiary is opening March 5 at the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, Texas. A bestiary is an ancient book form. Blackfork Creek is the watershed I live in. The animals are all locals, as am I. It's been shown in part, on notecards, refrigerator magnets, a Focal Press poster et over the years, but never the whole show. Glad to have it up. May travel. The OJAC is a jewel of a museum in the middle of nowhere, adequately endowed and undergoing and expansion in the near future. Near Abilene, Texas. All prints are either 20X24 enlargements or 5X7 Platinum/Palladium contacts.

Thanks. I'm going to pitch this show around at Fotofest Meeting place in a couple weeks. All framed and ready to hang. All any artist wants is to have work seen.

I've curated three shows this year, (not of mine), two photo and one watercolor, all solo artists, one at a museum and two in public spaces. Can't wait to see how curator PatricK Kelly at the OJAC sequenced and hung this show. He's pretty good, so I'm anticipating that he is seeing things I wouldn't see. The order in which prints are hung, what they are near, how they turn the corners, where the "King" spaces in a gallery are located, make huge differences in how an audience experiences a show. The Bestiary was shot as a book project, with a short story with each illustration, so Patrick used some on my text on the wall as well. That's the equivalent of flaming cat juggling. I'll see it in a week!

The Horned Owls have hatched out on the Albany Texas courthouse. Some friends drove up to see it yesterday. Show closes May 14. Looking for other venues!
