    Hi Randy

What do you think about making custom frames with this unit??, join a basic wood frame together then use one side to make a custom profile and flip it over
and cut out your rabitt to hold the glass and artwork.

I have 7 thumbs but this looks a lot like the units that cut matts. and they are really easy to use.

I think it wood be fine for frames. Sorry about the pun.

The biggest problem for an old fart like Me would be programming, but I bet I could do it. After a while.

Look up the big router forum. They are very helpful with anything a router can do and they can do a lot.

Dremel is a lousy tool once in a fixture. I use mine handheld and used to groove 0.03" steel for 0.02" thermocouples by hand. Took 8 hours for a diesel head gasket. Whineeeee, but the dust was worse.

I believe Richard has a good point. Haven't tried the CNC toys, but with proper know-how + "zero clearance insert", one could do a lot with a small tablesaw (like Makita, etc). I happen to know someone, who lives few miles away, who tweaked his (many years old) Craftsman radial arm saw to a 0.001" precision of a cut....ha, he even wrote about it at Fine Woodworking mag. OK, paired with a nice router/table + few other tools and one could tackle many projects. I've always had a nice "reverse-cut" Japanese hand saw, which leaves no marring and the cut is appx 0.8mm thick - yes, one can do some precise work (like joints) with that.

Anyhoo, one has to do what one has to do, tho being safe around power tools is of primary importance....at least to me....and there is no reason to fear.

I have a very limited income.

Well, at least until you get the CNC programming done and 11x14 film holders in production...
