I suspect that Bob wishes to double-check his data for accuracy when someone makes a request. It is not unusual for manufacturers' data to be incorrect.

That said, and I hope this doesn't tick someone off, I ran a test dumping the Linhof serial number thread. One of my minor talents in the old days was parsing strings. I did not finish because it was late and I needed sleep more than data. Besides, while the results could be interpolated to fill some of the gaps similar to how summilux.net does, I don't know if it would make a big difference.

Whether it is a bunch of data or a formula for calculating the date of Linhof equipment, the big question is whether Bob wants (or is allowed) to publicly release it in its entirety. If so, any number of us could turn it into useful HTML tables or some other format...

Actually archive.org. Regardless, many thanks for going to the trouble - it's a great resource.

Thanks for the correction and kind word. I rechecked, found that I was mistaken about files on http://cnum.cnam.fr/. The front page is archived, the contents aren't. I've changed the links' annotations to reflect this.
