flatbed scanner (G4050) emulsion up or face down?

    Hi
I have an HP G4050 scanner and it comes with a 4x5 adapter. I'm going to try out using that, plus dry & then wet mounting it directly onto the scanner glass.

But is there convention on whether the emulsion side of the film should be face down or face up?

    thanks

I put it face down to help avoid newton rings.
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:
