Are there problems with the private message system?

I have been trying to respond to someone who sent me a PM regarding a JOBO system I have for sale and the system seems to be blocked in some way. All of my attempted responses are not visible on what should be a message thread between he and I and he has not responded which makes me believe that that part of the site is malfunctioning. Can anyone enlighten me about the private messaging portion and whether it is messed up? Thank you.

Is your message box full? We're not allowed to have more than 100 total messages (sent and received). This is the only forum I use that has such an onerous limit. Seriously broken in my mind.

That would definitely appear to be the case...
