Anyone heard of a Crosfield Celsius 240 Drum scanner?

So, after scouring the net, it seems like it is a rebranded Howtek D45000 scanner, though, not sure if it could possibly use the same drum.

There is a unit locally that I could get for next to nothing, though it doesn't come with a drum. I'm wondering, as I have not experience with drum scanners, if it is even a possibility to ever find a drum for this thing!? I noticed Aztek sells reconditioned Howtek 4000 and 4500 drums, so am wondering if anyone with experience knows if they are interchangable? Any help would be sooo appreciated!

Here are some pictures of the unit:

    Thanks all!

If it doesn't come with a drum, and you don't have one already, or aren't sure about drum specs, I'd keep looking.

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what you think it is, a 4500... Just call Aztek and ask them, they will tell you what this is, and they will also tell you the price of those drums...

Interesting: "Crosfield also had an OEM arrangement with Howtek to sell their small desktop drum scanners, which were badged as 'Celsis 240'. Although very good in RGB mode, they used no Crosfield software or technology"

Here's an article with a lot of detail on Crosfield: http://www.colourphil.co.uk/crosfiel...er_intro.shtml

Thanks everyone, and good point Lenny, I will try giving Aztek a call and see what they say...

Wise words. Besides, you do not know for sure if the scanner is in operational condition and you will need a drum to run all tests.
The drum mount to the headstock and size is different between the d4000 and the d4500. The rest is pretty similar hardware. Updated code, of course. PM me if you need more info.
