A friend recently gave me this book, full title, How to make good pictures : a book for the amateur photographer ([1922]) available here for free Internet Archive.

He gave me a clean 1st edition hardback, which is the size of a paperback.

Inside has no date, but MOMA lists it as from 1915's. Page down here for Moma's take away.

I find the book fascinating and still useful in it's very concise, yet accurate explanations of all any photographer might want to know. Obscure techniques are clarified.

I suggest reading this book for many tips on older thinking and many ways to make pleasing images. I now am carrying it with me for reading at meals.

See you soon Mr Moto Guzzi!
