    Useful IKEA items.

This week on our annual spring break pilgrimage to the scary big city, I will likely be forced to endure a trip to the mega-retail paradise. Has anyone found any useful items for use in their darkroom or kit?

    Thanks
    Ken

There are some kitchen things that could be useful, but probably my favorite is their stainless steel cable clothes hanger with clips. It's perfect for hanging film and prints.

I use one of their industrial style ceiling lamps for contact printing on Azo & Lodima.

A friend of mine purchased some (RED only) LED Christmas lights from them, and he's reported that they work well as an alternative safelight in his darkroom. I have not printed in his space, so I'm taking his word on it. But his prints look good, blank edges are nice and white! Probably under $10, but might only be available during the holiday season.

I was at Ikea recently and as we were walking by the restaurant noticed that on the wall over the meatball station they had 3 pictures of very friendly looking ponies. Truth in advertising perhaps?

I used a number of their kitchen storage systems in my darkroom. I really like the stainless steel tubular shelves with hanging accessories.

There's a large glass beaker shaped flowerpot that might come in handy for mixing

They have some very nice wall mounts with a steel cable that I find useful to let prints dry out of the way. Or just let them hanging fro a while until you decide which keep, which needs touching-up, which go...

Nice one but I didn't see it online, what the exact name or number?

For my darkroom, I bought a lot of things there.
From the Grundtal series, the deeper ajustable shelf (call Drying rack 902.192.97). Containers square, round, double (called caddy), that fit on the bar 202.135.38, bars available in many width. Grundtal Stainless S hook, 2 sizes. Also many Grundtal towel rail, horizontal or a nice pivoting vertical one 600.478.96
Drying rack 101.771.78 that can be closed. Nice BOHOLMEN Dish drainer and flatware basket 102.085.23, basket can be hang on the Grundtal bar. Also ORDNING Flatware caddy, stainless steel 300.118.32 that can be hang to the Grundtal bar with S hook.
All in the kitchen and the Washing room sections.
As you see I like IKEA stainless accessories!

    The name is DIGNITET.
While you mention it, the set of paper drawers with the printer on top is also from Ikea.
    I think that it fits a 16x20.

I use the same 6-drawer cabinet shown on the left in Ibenac's photo for storing prints mounted on up to 16X20 board. It can be rolled from one spot to another. Sorry, but I cannot remember the code name.
