I had that exact thought for a series just last week while heading towards a job west of D.C. in Virginia. A perfect little ridge and valley landscape interspersed with houses and powerline towers slicing right through it. Pretty and ugly at the same time.
All the telephone/power poles are gradually disappearing in Arlington. Becoming artifacts.
