    Douglas Busch's film holder patent

    Happened across this today, perhaps it will provide some ideas for DIYers about what to try in building holders - or what not to try:

    Seeing the details, one wonders whether this stated objective was met:

    Applicant has sought to develop, by way of his invention a film holder apparatus which may be efficiently manufactured and reasonably priced...

    Is that typical of the language that is used in a patent? Seems needlessly obtuse to me.

    Actually, that particular line is relatively simple and clear as patent language goes.

    It is typical, Kirk, and less obtuse than most descriptions I've had to read.

    It appears to work something like a Negaflat. Good, if it works.
