The only portrait(s) I made this month, but it was an important one to me. Most of the family gets annoyed about photos but my grandfather loves them and he's had a couple of health issues recently, so I really wanted to make this one count. Please excuse the boring family shot but I really like the results.
Taken with my Linhof Master Technika, 15cm Voigtlander APO Lanthar, on Fuji 160S:
Also - the roughly 10 second self-timer in the Lanthar doesn't seem like a lot, until your whole family is standing there waiting for it to click...
The subdued color in that last one is really nice. (to thicktheo)
Few people EVER like to sit for these shots, but they are very important for family history. Hopefully you print it and put everybody's name and age on the back, then give a copy to them all and tell them to keep it for their children.
Since I have the family pics, i get calls to produce an album mostly for funerals, and wow, do the survivors want those old images of loved ones.
Please carefully PRINT the names on the back, as most script is unreadable.
Great job also!
Tin Can
That's a great idea (writing the names/ages on the back). Thanks!
I'm making a couple of contact prints (8x10, b&w) of the family photo I did of my girlfriend's family for Christmas/New Year's presents tomorrow night. I can't do color darkroom work yet but I'll have this negative of my family for the future...digital prints will suffice for now.
A long time away from here! This is a local actor I shot in preparation for an upcoming role set around 1870. Whole plate ambrotype.
Master-framed, Orgraph.
Cheers,
Renato
