Any experience with mounting a matte box/filter holder onto a Deardorff v8?

Hello and thanks in advance for looking into this.

I'd like to find a matte box with filter slots for my Deardorff v8. The only lens I have right now is a Rodenstock Sironar-n 300mm F5.6 in Copal 3. I've done a fair amount of research but I'm feeling overwhelmed with the seemingly endless depth of search engine info. I basically have three questions:

    1) Which company(ies) would you recommend for a matte box that has filter holder slots (one that rotates is a plus for sure)?

    2) what size square/rectangular filters would I need?

    3) how the heck would I mount this to the v8? Lens or front standard?

I'd really appreciate any feedback on this. I realize that the info is out there online and probably even contained within one of the forums here, but my hope is that one of the members here have dealt with a similar situation and can pass down some guidance.

    Again, thank you,
    Elias

I don't know about the matte box but I often use a Lee filter holder---the one that uses a rubber band to attach it to lenses without filter threads (if you like broccoli or asparagus you can save those rubber ands for spares)

A Lee or clone of a lee filter holder will do the job but you'll need to use a screw in pola since it doesn't have stages that rotate. The holder uses adapter rings that screw onto each lens. A cinema matt box is too heavy unless you get a lightweight clip on style with adapter rings.
    I use the lee with 100mm x 100mm filters

No. I'm talking about the lee with built in hood that takes hard filters. The one you have is not large enough to fit his lens.

    That's a big lens.

I don't have field Deardorff, but I have adapted Horseman compendium bellows shade to SC11 and other cameras. They have 5.5" filter slots, tilt up and can rotate.

    They even fit your lens.

You would need a 3 hole mount, which is easy to make.

I have the Lee. It has an accessory threaded adapter you can screw into the front of the 4" stages for a Polarizer. I use it with my SK 150mm XL & Rodie AS 210 W, both of which have huge 100mm fronts.

    Thanks, guys.
I went through some of the lee products today and it's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Just need to combine a 100mm filter holder with a lens hood and get an 86mm adapter ring.
    I truly appreciate the lead.

Never used deardorff but using matte box with my canon camera. Matte box is a device which prevent or block the sunlight in order to avoid the lens flares. Its function is same as the lens hood. Their are many different brands in market like Redrock, cavision, proaim etc. My experience is with Proaim, it is perfect in every aspect, whether its price or quality. I bought this online from Dvcity.
