Canon 9950f and 8x10 film - actually done it?

Has anyone actually scanned 8x10 film on the Canon 9950f scanner? I've seen countless references to "It looks like it should work" and "Canon says it will", but I have been unable to find a reference to anyone who's actually done it. I'd be interested to find someone who's actually put a piece of 8x10 film on the scanner to find out just how much of the film surface the scanner would cover. I'm assuming that VueScan would have to be used for this task, as it's my understanding that the Canon software won't allow 8x10 to be selected as a film size.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm damned interested too. I'm thinking about picking up one of these scanners. I sold my Minolta Scan Multi Pro (a real piece of shite) and I need something to replace it.
