Removing a Stuck Front Element - is it Necessary?

    Hello,

I'm new to LF and recently acquired a set of lenses. On all of the lenses, the rear element can be unscrewed for mounting on a lens board. But on 2 of the 4 lenses the front element cannot be unscrewed. Is that normal or should I be concerned? I'm thinking that if the shutter ever needed to be repaired or replaced, it might be good to be able to remove the front element, but I don't know if that is the case or not. As far as I know, all the lenses are from the mid-80's or newer. If there is a reason to remove a front element and it is stuck, what is the safest way to try to unscrew it?

Don't worry about it. If it needs to be repaired your repair person will get it off.
