will center filter for 58mm xl work on 47mm xl

To all,

I was wondering if anyone knows through experience if the center filter for the Schneider 58mm xl will work reasonably well on the Schneider 47mm xl when shooting transparencies on 4x5? I would prefer to not purchase two center filters if at all possible. As of yet, I have not purchased either center filter. Ideally, the CF for the 58mm xl will also work on the 80mm xl and the 110mm xl and if it would work on the 47mm xl one filter could function on multiple lenses.
