Anyone knows Velner Soft Focus lens?

Just got three blur pictures of the lens.




Couldn't find any data about the lens on VM and google.
It's No.3 and 9 in lens.

I have one and from what I remember it is a Verito type. I'll try to dig it out and look at the lens configuration. It should be two plus one.

The brand had certain quantity products according to its serial number.
However, there's almost no trace to follow it.

The whole engraving：
“Velner” Soft Focus Lens Ser.1 No.3 1:4.5 F=9 in
Compared with WOLLENSAK VERITO f-4 DIFFUSED FOCUS 8 3/4”
Left is Wolly.

Wolly is higher.

The diameter and thead are same.


Different Rear Groups~
Actually Wolly rear glass is much more thicker than Velner's, although it seems that Wolly rear group is thiner than Velner's.

That's my checking results.

I wonder whether it was manufactured by someone bigger, (Wollensak, B&L, etc.) and badged Velner as a vanity brand?

verito type lenses are based on an ultra fast rapid rectalinaer design
which from what i can remember means like the verito
they the same configuration front and back (( | ))

if the rear groups are different between the wolly and your lens
it probably isn't the same sort of lens but might have an extra piece
of glass / airspace or something else going on in there.

The Verito has a cemented doublet in the rear and a simple positive meniscus in the front. The positive meniscus shortens the focal length, and more importantly--increases the speed of the lens.
