    Wet Mounting

I'm interested in trying wet mounting to see if it significantly improves scans on an epson 4870.
Does anyone know of detailed source of information?
I found a pdf file about a wet mounting kit at
    http://www3.sympatico.ca/gluemax/ScanMax/scanmaxbrochure4.pdf

but no other information about it. I'm waiting to see if the guy writes back.
    Anyone familiar with this product?
    Thanks,
    P

I'm not sure I understand the connection between scanning negatives and wet mounting prints. In addition, while I (as an Old-Timer) care to know nothing about giclee prints, I have never seen an inkjet print which was not water-soluable.

However, that said, I would invite your attention to my article called "Wet Mounting" on the other side of this site. Click on the "Home Page" banner.

Also, I would suggest a quick web search on "Decoupage". I just found 118,774 sites on the subject.

And look into the use and technique of Modge Podge. Several coats of it will both adhere a print to something like Gatorfoam and also seal the surface making it washable.

I get the impression you don't really know what you are talking about?

    Let's be nice!

Paulr is asking about using drum scanner mounting fluid with film on the 4870.

It's best to ask on at:

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/epson4870/

Also in the above groups Files section there are comparisons of a film scan with and without scanning fluid. It does make a difference.

    Thanks

I'll let you know what I discover ... a few people are sending me information as text files and pdf files.
As soon as I get the scanning figured out, I'll look into the decoupage
