Thumbs up Greetings from upstateish NY

Hello all! I've been banging around with 35mm and digital cameras in law enforcement and personally for a while, 25 years or so. I've had my images used in criminal prosecutions, some of my 9/11 Ground Zero images have been published in magazines, and many are in the 911 Memorial Museum. Took a stab at medium format a few years ago, but didn't really have the time. Recently my circumstances have chanced, on the cusp of retiring, so I just picked up a 4x5 Speed Graphic on that big auction site and waiting for it to arrive.
Currently my digital is a D7000, and looking forward to restoring the Speed Graphic and making photos with your help and support.

    Dave.

Welcome! You will find a lot of information in the home page and the archives here. I find that Google search works better than the native search to find the specific threads that I'm looking for on a topic.
    Enjoy,
    Dave

Welcome! I agree with David on using Google search. You will find that the Speed Graphic will actually slow you down, a lot!

LOL on the Speed Graphic. I was on a Horseman tear for a while but fell for the Graflex after deciding I wanted to try out the focal plane shutter. Guess I'll see....

Where in the H*** is upstateish, NY?
Lived here for the past 70 years and still can't find it on the map.
Anyway welcome, from the Finger Lakes and NY wine country.
We have a lot of fun here and if one pays attention there are things to learn.

Welcome from one who grew up in central NY (Mohawk Valley) and who was a forensic chemist for 14 years in MA. Warning - I'm convinced that LF cameras breed if left alone too long. Use the camera that works for you. (I have a Speed, too, among others)
