    Howdy from western Colorado

I just joined the forum, but have been reading it for a while. I've been shooting on a Century Graphic 2 1/4x3 1/4, but have been smitten by the desire to dive into large format. When I was a teenager we had an old 5x7 wooden camera that I used some, then later I got to shoot some transparencies on an 8x10 Linhof in connection with a job. Well, now I've taken the plunge and bought an old Linhof 4x5 Color with a Xenar lens. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow, and I can't wait. Thanks for letting me learn from you guys!

Happy to have you join us. So close to Colorado National Monument, I sure miss going there. Ask questions, we have all been new here too.

Welcome Randy from another GJ resident. If you get the bug to play in the darkroom, let me know.

Thanks! Erik, maybe we can meet up some time. My LF camera got sent to Wyoming somehow, and is slowly making its way to me, according to the tracking. So much for 3 day priority mail.

Glad to know there is another LFer on the Western Slope. There aren't many of us. Maybe we can meet up some time at an intermediate location, ... Howardsville, Animas Forks, Minnie Gulch, Lime Creek, Hovenweep? The wildflower season is about over for American Basin and Yankee Boy Basin.

The Color is a nice camera. I have one of those, it operates much like my Tech IV, but it does not get into the field as often. I am presuming that you will be doing your own darkroom work. I do both color and b&w negatives and printing. There's not much for labs in these parts.
