New to LF and LF Forum - making my own glass plate negs

    Hello from sunny (rare) England

Hello all at LF I've been a LF forum stalker for a while and just joined today. I'm a fine artist with a love of all things darkroom, and I have the great pleasure of being artist in residence at the UK's longest running photographers W W Winter Photography, who have been photographing non stop since 1867!

I'm working with their glass plate portraits and making my own in response.. I hand cut the glass, coat with gelatine and emulsion then shoot. I'm currently shooting on a Wisner Technical Field 5x4, and loving it... also discovering that LF is going to be an expensive habit.

    Hi,
That sounds like a great job. I'm doing dry plate coating, too. Soon I hope to be making my own emulsion. I shoot on a Vageeswari 8x15 that uses book form plate holders.
