But what about us? What do you think of the photographers who avoid photo.net?
Graeme - Lovely design ! Are those rocks really blue ? I ask, because I have been playing around with some Portra, and find it something of a challenge to get all the colors right.
Gah, I feel drastically outclassed, but...

I hate scanning negs, but I hate scanning prints even more. There hasn't been a new image added in, I think, over a year, since I started shooting 8x10.
Ken, yes the rocks really do have a blue tinge about them. I'm shooting Velvia and occasionally Provia and I don't have too many problems getting the colours close to the tranny.
What program are you using to drive your scanner? I suggest using Vuescan: great value and it gives you control of the scanner. Try downloading the trial version and following the "Advanced Workflow". That should let you get the colours correct from your Portra because it takes the film base colour into account when it makes your file.
Cheers,
Actually, I'm a long-time VueScan user. Even so, I find it challenging to work with color film. Perhaps I'd be well advised to shoot a grey card along with each shot.
Perhaps you might try using tranny film for a while. I don't know the answer since I don't use colour negs in LF - never been able to get the colours I want .... ;-)
Goto www.tomnutterphotos.com and click on the "Wyoming" link. It's work done this past summer with a toyo 45AX for a grant I received.
