Lens shoot out - Verito, Pentac, and a Gundlach Petzval

What do these lenses have to do with each other? Not much but they wee all sitting around with nothing to do last weekend and my neighbor's Lillies are in bloom. The Gundlach lens is one of those generic projection petzvals, 7" FL around f5. The Verito, a 7 1/4" FL f4. The Pentac, 8", shot at f4 since that was the most I could stop down before running out of Speed Graphic shutter speed. The film, Portra 160. Actually, they're all 7-8" FL and f4-5 so at least similar that way. Anyway, I found the different signatures interesting (first time using the Pentac and the Gundlach).

    Thanks
    Dan

I personally like Pentac's signature the best for this kind of shots. Verito is somehow too dreamy for me and Gundlach a bit too classical...

I like the Gundlach projection petzval for the out of focus areas, even though it's not technically a soft focus lens.

    Thanks for doing the series.

But, can you add a rectilinear lens (such as a Versar) wide open to this series? I think they have the smoothest bokeh.

I vote for the Verito! Big surprise, right. All are very nice, and color is a treat.

Haha Nice. Three of us commented and all three liked different lens
