    anti-newton glass

Does anyone know where I can obtain sheets of anti-newton glass at resonable prices?
I'm looking to make a neg/tranny carrier for a flat bed scanner. The carriers supplied are woefully inadequate at holding the film flat and usage of standard glass is creating awful newton ring problems. Ideally I need a sheet or two at approximately A4 size, although I could live with something @ 5" x 4" at minimum.
So far I've only found one supplier and the prices seem extortunate (£160-00/sheet). Is it really that expensive to produce? On that basis Gepe double glass slide mounts out to be about £10.00 each!

    Hello Simon.

I have a sympathetic understanding of your newton ring problem.
However, I feel that you may be making the problem greater than need be.

As you are using a scanner that seems to be causing the problem, and not an enlarger carrier, have you tried putting your film in the scanner upside down - that is emulsuon side down?

Yes, the final scanned image will be the wrong way round.

Then reverse the image to the corrct way round and,

    NO Newton RINGS!
