Which way to go with UT7 inks?

I just received a set of UT7 inks for my 2100.
    What is the best way
    to use them?
Up till now, I have been using Black Only with the
standard Epson driver with v good resutlts.
Could I just use the Epson
driver in color mode? Or should I try QTR?
    Having very limited time,
I am concerned that to get QTR up and running might exceed my time
    budget at the moment.
Any help is very much appreciated

I've never actually done it - I use the Piezotones. But what I recall is that, in your image editor, you put your image into RGB mode and apply tone curves (Rourk workflow) to get the tone you want. Then send the resulting RGB file to the printer. More info, and curves, on Paul Rourk's website here:

I'd begin using the UT7 inks by downloading Paul Roark's curves from the MIS web site. If you don't like the papers for which the curves were developed, or if for some reason you don't like the results produced, you might then try QTR. However, I've been following the QTR discussion on DigitalBlackandWhite:The Print since the Windows version was introduced several months ago. From reading all the installation and operation problems people have asked about it doesn't look to me like this program is all that simple to install and operate. I'd use it only if the Roark curves didn't produce the results I wanted but I'd definitely be using those first since they're very simple to download and use (not to mention the fact that they're free). I've been using MIS variable mix inks for several years with the Roark curves for them and have been very pleased with the results.
