Artists & Alchemists - What ever happened?

Just curious, does anyone know if this film is ever coming out?

Looks interesting. There are some updates from last year on Facebook.

Yup, I saw that, the last post was January, 2013. "On our way back from the Sundance festival... think we secured funding to finish the film. Look for A&A in 2013. No exact date yet..." Then a string of comments running as late as two months ago asking when it would be out, but no answer from whoever manages the page. The website looks to have nothing new since early 2011.

Just curious if there was still hope of a release.

I'm not accusing them of being old fashioned or financially challenged, but what is money used for "to finish a film"?

If someone is technically adept and motivated by the subject enough to dedicate some computer time to it, I'm thinking we're in a day in age when someone can cobble something together with their computer and put it on youtube without needing to line up making prints, promoting, get it into yuppie boutique theaters, etc.. The only expenses might be travel and website.

My experience leading to this optimistic conclusion is making a few youtube videos, doing live sound, etc.. There are kids out there making videos with millions of views using their lunch money and the family car.

They aren't making a youtube video, but a feature documentary. The level of involvement from multiple parties is far, far beyond what is required for youtube.

I hope that it finds legs. It sends a good message.

I'm guessing the whole production is dead and gone. Anyone know any different?
