Hello All,
I am new to the LF medium. LF has been a dream of mine for many, many years. I have been a photography nut for as long as I can remember. When I was about 7, my father gave me his old Argus C3 , a few rolls of film, a light meter, and the instructions and said "this was my Dad's camera, have fun with it" I must have taken hundreds of picture cause my Dad told me to slow it down.
When in high school I took photos and processed them for the yearbook. I used a Minolta SRT-101 and had fun with that. I have had a few underwater cameras, none of which wear that good. Back in the mid 80's I was at Glazers Camera in Seattle, and there it was! The Wista! I felt like the kid in Christmas Story! What a beautiful piece of photographic art! I will someday have one!
I went digital very early on, thinking that was the way to take photos! It has been for a long time, but for taking a landscape photos, they never really had the look I want. Over the years, I have progressed to a Nikon D7000 which is a great camera, I have truly enjoyed using it. However, the LF bug keeps coming around. two weeks ago, I purchased a Graphic View with all the stuff, a Bogen tripod (which weighs a ton!) an Omega D5 and everything else. My wife is on board with all this which is a blessing! When we build our next house it will have a very fine darkroom with all we need.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of working in the microscope industry when the semiconductor business, doing so I met a lot of folks that were using crazy optics for all sorts of things!
I look forward to learning and sharing with all of you.
David
