Help me! Phase one H20 Back shoot with 4x5 copal shutter Lens problem

    Dear

I'm a new and used H20 Back shoot with a Sianr P2 camera with some copal shutter large format lens.

My problem is everything is ready(I have sliding adapter, connect with sync cable)

When I shoot the shutter the capture one can got the picture, BUT all pictures is All Black!

What is the problem, I think maybe is a sync problem? by the way I can shoot with Hasselblad is ok!

anyone can help me solve the problem?

    Thank you very Much!!!

    Hi,

I owned an H20 a few years ago, and used it on a Sinar.
The black images could be due to a number of reasons:
    1. Is the shutter actually firing? Do the shutter blades open and close?
    2. Are you using the same sync cable on the Sinar and the Hasselblad cameras? Have you tried using a different cable?
    3. Have you set the preferences in Capture One properly?
    4. Have you checked with different lenses, in case one of them has a sync problem?

Finally, you might want to post the same question on the Luminous Landscape or GetDPI forums, where a number of experienced Phase One users and dealers post regularly.

    Dear Kuma

    Thank you for your reply!

I have found what is the problem, I use a standard cable which can't wake up the back for one-shot but hassbelblad can didn it. I need buy a one-shot cable such as Kapture group one-shot cable.

One other question is did you know how to use Sinar camera with H20 Back to set up a multi flash system, if there are 3 or 4 strobes.

    Best regards

    Hi Wang,

One cable from the back will go to one strobe. Many strobes have built-in photo-electric cells, so you may not need any other accessories. But if your strobes don't have them, Google for "cordless flash triggers". You would use these triggers on the strobes that are not connected to the H20.

Another solution whilst waiting for the wake up cable is to fire the shutter twice, the first wakes up the back, the second takes the picture, you must also be careful to use the correct fire wire cable, and if using an older mac make sure its plugged in to the connection at the back of the machine, apart from that that particular back was one I used at the very start of the digital age and if I remember rightly I did not get too much change from £15,000, I suspect it costs a little less now
