    long shot: US virgin islands?

    Looking for anyone familiar with him photography in the usvi. Moving to st Thomas next month.

    For me, St. Thomas is awful. Way too crowded and packed with people. No place for LF photography. Swarms of people (often sick) at times from hugh cruise ships. But if it's your thing, it is an excellent place for images of overstuffed tourists. You may find a few scant spots for landscapes but be on guard for thievery.

    Much better to take the boat (ferry) over to St. John, VI. where there are some wide open spaces and splendid, isolated beaches. 2/3 of the island is US. Nat. Park. Another boat to Tortola BVI gets you some marvelous beachside images of fantastic boulders that are of rock derived from the African continent some eons ago. If I get a chance I'll post images from both the latter islands.

    I don't think you want to see the images of overstuffed tourists from St. Thomas.
