New member from Chicago

Hey everyone.

Just got my first view camera a few weeks ago, a Calumet CC-401 that I found online. Most of my experience is with 35mm and digital, but in college I took a view camera class for a semester, so I have a little bit of experience with large format. I definitely have a lot more to learn though, so I'm glad I found this community.

Now if only the weather would get a little better. I've had the camera for about 4 weeks now and have taken only 2 shots with it because this winter has just been brutal.

I picked a terrible time of the year to buy a camera. I'm too excited about having it that I don't want to have to wait until spring, but going out in sub-zero temps isn't my idea of a good time either.

Chicago here, too. Trapped, too. I just bought a new camera a couple of weeks ago, and have shot a few things, but certainly not on the street! Snow photos without sun aren't much to look at, anyway.....
