Focus on the far.
Tilt towards the near until the farthest point and nearest point are equally out of focus.
Refocus until both pop into focus.
Stop down as needed for exposure.
Check focus across the scene.
Tweak focus as necessary to take advantage of DOF.
Done.
I don't shoot landscapes but I use this every day in the studio shooting table top. Works quickly and no math! Just your eyeballs.
