That's fantastic Merg. Somehow your expression and posture add a certain weight to the collection of objects. It made me smile too.

Thanks, Austin. My photo buddy and I spent the previous night at the Bodie "campground". Arising early, surrounded by snow and ice, we discovered that we were the only two crazy enough to be there; I had never been as cold! Well, not the only two, the ranger and his young daughter on school-break from Bridgeport were also there. He treated us to coffee and conversation, and opened up any building we wished to photograph. That is my thermal underwear you see peeking through under my collar. Anyway, it was a fun and productive day.

Speaking of smiling, I often do the same while viewing your work; you have been busy with your camera, and so happy to see the results knowing that you are getting it into galleries. Congratulations!

    Clyde's Swamp, Dragonfly

Digging into my film today after getting home yesterday from a fun trip to south Florida. This was taken right outside Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Gallery after a rain shower. Might be hard to see so small but there's a little dragonfly in the spotlight of sun.

    Hi Colin,

    You obviously don't know Austin.

He commonly makes the sun stand still until he gets the shot he wants.
We've seen numerous examples of that over the years.

Nice to have that level of control over the lighting. ;-)

    Myakka State Park Nature Trail
My friend and I carefully waded out into the flooded forest. Myakka is one of the most amazing state parks I've been to. From what I understand, Clyde Butcher's next body of work will be just Myakka. He was apparently somewhere in the park one of the days I went but I didn't see him .

That's very cool, Bryan--I love those palmettos, but don't fancy crawling through many of them.

FWIW, I took my P67 and shot some Acros last week in the GSMNP--if I remember correctly, it's got a bit more green sensitivity than other emulsions, so it will be another thing to miss about it.
