    Thanks Tuco. According to my notes, that was shot at f/5.6. I was within a few feet of the hydrant, so the DoF was limited by both the focal length and the f-stop. I've learned the hard way that shooting close to a subject with that lens and wide open results in razor thin DoF. Even at f/8 and a close subject, you get some wonderful bokeh. The CF 100/3.5 is terrific glass. Some of Zeiss's finest work in my humble opinion.

    Okay thanks. Those tombstones pictures I did back on page 339 were at f2.8 with my 105/2.4. I got enough DOF to cover the depth of the tombstone and enough of the flowers.
