    I guess there is a reason that no such system has yet to kill any of the Jobo's out there.

    Get the drum ... forget the machine and use a Beseler or Unicolor roller ... don't worry about reversing it (watch the video and see if you can see any reason to reverse it ... I've tried both ways ... and gave up on reversing with no noticeable difference) ... and get a long tube adjustable funnel from any auto parts store to fill while rotating. Made my life soooo much easier.

    I gave up trying PMK this way but simply switched to Pyrocat-HD and it works great. My standard developer, HC-110, also works great in the drums.

    Just a guess: could it be that reversing causes less wear on the brushes of the electric motor?

    This has been discussed a great many times here and on APUG. The answer is no.
    Regardless, replacement motors are readily available should they need to be replaced.
