Does anyone know what accessories are available for the 4x5 Tachi. I have read that there was a 5x7 back option and a front extension of some indeterminate length. Badger doesn't seem to offer any.

Adorama's site lists the extension and shows a picture of it.
Regarding the 5" X 7" option, I have an ancient listing for Tachihara Photo Works. They used to be at 17-8, 3-chome, Toshima, Kita-ku, Tokyo. Maybe they still are, or perhaps mail might be forwarded.
The Midwest Photo Exchange site shows lens boards, but not the conversion back extension.

You might call either MPEX or Badger to see what they can special order.
Hi Wayne,
Call, or e-mail Jim (jim@mpex.com) at Midwest Photo Exchange (www.mpex.com). He is a direct importer of Tachihara products. Jim is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I can confirm the existence of the 5x7 extension, at least. When I bought my Tachi, the store had the camera along with the 5x7 back which I didn't want. It would be a bit clumsy to use in terms of some movements, such as back tilt which would be happening several inches in front of the film plane, but I guess it would be a relatively inexpensive way to ramp up to 5x7.
Unless things have changed in the last several years, there aren't many accessories made by Tachihara for the 4x5 camera. The extension board and 5x7 back previously mentioned are the only two I can think of offhand. Of course some accessories made by others can be used with the Tachihara, e.g. the Calumet roll film holders, the Polaroid holder, the Calumet or Canham ground glass protector, the Linhof or Wista recessed lens boards, the BosScreen or Beattie screen, etc. But if you want a thorough and completely accurate answer call Jim at MidWest Photo Exchange as Eugene suggested.
