    First successful 4x5 film negative!

The contact sheet isn't terribly sharp for some reason, even though the negative seems to be under a loupe (waiting on enlarger parts to come before I can make enlargements). Still exciting to be started!

Congratulations, I hope this is the first of many. So many things in the picture were likely moving. Makes it tough on sharpness.

Yup ... that first one is great ... congratulations.

My first photo of a boat in LF was was hand-held (a Crown Graphic) taken on a floating pier of boats on the water in Humboldt Bay ... Sharp? I don't think so! Very hard to get sharp when you, the camera, and the subject are all moving.

    Where was this taken?

Looking forward to seeing many more photos from you.

This was taken in Eureka, CA. Had to drive there and back (about 9 hours) to pick up my shiny (see: rusty) new (see: twice my age+) Omega D enlarger. Price was right at free. I was firmly on concrete, but there was a bit of wind that day and my tripod is kind of tested by the bulk of my camera (really need to upgrade, I fear.) the boat in center I wasn't really expecting to get too sharp given that she was bobbing, but at f/22 I was hoping the boats in the distance would be sharper. I'll have to look at the trees in the distance to compare, once I can get it enlarged. (Found an absolutely mint old 135 lens for the omega, but it's 40mm instead of 39. Apparently retaining rings for it just kind of don't exist.)
