Question Anyone switched sides of current Arca-Swiss Orbix DIY?

    Hi,
On my 8x10" Arca F-Metric with micro metric Orbix I would like to switch the tilt control from the left to the right side of the camera.
I heard it is very easy with the older, larger frames but it's impossible to just flip the orbix frame around.
Has anyone done that successfully ?

Perhaps, Richard might be able to assist you further?

    >> ... When I received my F-line field with metric orbix, the Orbix control was on the left side. On the right side was the front standard focus and tilt knobs. It was an easy DIY (use Loctite) job to switch the Orbix control knob to the right side. It sure makes focusing easy with one hand.

I'm guessing the one Richard had was the older design.

Is this what your Front and Rear 'Function Carriers' look like?
    Thank-you!

Yes, that's the one. The knob he's showing at minute 3:00 I would like to have on the other side..

After studying the video 'very carefully' and reviewing other information about your 'specific camera' on the web:

My best 'guessestimate' is... That you are not going to be able to accomplish what you would like (*At least 'perhaps' without doing major surgery on your Orbix Control)... ARRRRGH!!!

Have you ever thought about contacting the Manufacturer or Precision Camera Works... And seeing what they have to say?

I can most definitely sympathize with you.
I too like to have all of the 'Controls' on my Studio View Cameras -- To be on the 'Right Hand Side' also!

    BTW... Very Nice Camera!!!

Yes, I will contact Martin at Arca and I'm sure they can change that. I asked here cause I thought maybe someone has done it by themselves before.
    Thanks.
(BTW...yes, for ME absolutely the best camera. Had a Sinar Norma before that and tried Plaubel, Canham, Linhof, Ebony, Toyo and Phillips)
