    cutting 8x10 HR-T to 4x5

I discovered that when I cut 8x10 Fuji X-ray film it doesnt slice nicely into two ~4 inch halves that fit in 4x5 folders. If I get one half that barely squeezes in, the other half is too wide. Doesn't seem to be a way to cut in 2 halves that will both fit. So it seems you have to slice a sliver off the entire long edge. Has anyone else had this problem?

    I just measured an undeveloped 4x5 sheet... 3.915" x 4.915".

    I expect it's really 100mm x 125mm (3.937" x 4.921") nominal.

I dont have a digital ruler but I when I cut the 8 side into 4, its a sliver wider than a sheet of 4x5 film.

No, it does cut nicely into 4 for use as 4x5, if your cutting board is perfectly sized (I use pins in drilled holes in a guillotine-style board). The only time I've had to re-cut a sheet is if I'm not holding the film perfectly against the top stopper. This is also with Fuji HR-T. Most film holders are slightly wider than the sheet of film, of course, otherwise we would never be able to insert a sheet all the way without binding.
