    This is a drill pipe elevator, it's what holds the drill string in suspension and lowers / raises it into / out of the hole. This particular one is rated at 250 tons. That's a good bit of drill pipe.

    This is the first time I've posted an image I think on here, what are the size limitations? It wouldn't let me do a 5mb version.

    Look forward to further oil-field related work.

    Very cool. I work for a drilling supply company and find it to be very photogenic. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
