I've never see this ever before, the normal preview is horizontal instead of vertical:

Just a guess, have you looked into preferences?
See the ? In the left bottom corner? Click it.
There's an option to rotate and I THINK that's the area you'll find it.. This happened to me but I can't remember if it's there or not... The other area would be the 4 buttons in the upper left corner, one of them might be it? It happened to me by accident too, just click every button! Lol
