    Tripod apron -- supplier?

It seems that Gitzo no longer make their tripod aprons. Robert White are unable to
get more stock of the larger model (G088L) suitable for my Gitzo 1325.

The Bogen apron looks a touch floppy by comparison.

I have read of other aprons being sold through eBay etc but haven't been able to track
one down. Does anyone have a recommendation? Alternatively, if you know a shop
with the Gitzo G088L in stock, please tell me

Jean-Louis, thanks for your efforts. The small one (G088S) is tiny. It barely cleared my levelling base, so I sent it back to RW. They can't get the G088L.

I am in Sydney but I tried ringing Cambridgeworld (9:10am NY time). There was no answer, and some of the phone numbers on their site are dead. Perhaps they went out of business?

I want the apron to hold my Horseman bino viewer when I use 6x12. Are there any alternative aprons available. I note that Gnass don't have one...

    Thanks.

Leigh, be very careful in your dealings with Cambridge, as they have a long-standing bad reputation.

Oops, thanks for the warning. The G088L on their site is probably just evidence of an unmaintained website then. No-one else in the world seems to have one in stock!

Here's an idea which I haven't tried but might work:

At the local hardware store there is an apron for 5-gallon plastic buckets. It is made to go on the outside of the bucket and hold tools. Maybe it would work for what you want.

Did you tried to ask Adorama ?
I think that this kind of accessory can be easily made.
Buy a round piece of thin leather or resistant fabric, larger than the distance between the tripod's legs, (so as to obtain a deep bag), sew three lengths of cord on it, then tie them around the legs.

Assuming you want this to store 'stuff' while shooting you should look at the nifty film holder pouch that Justin Gnass makes. See it here: http://www.gnassgear.com/gallery/gallery_detail.cfm?product_image=40-4952-11-A68.jpg

Jean-Louis Llech, I got a reply from Adorama that they can't get the G088L any more.

Ted, I've seen the Gnass gear but mainly wanted a safe place to put the Horseman binocular viewer when using the 6x12 back.

Plan B. Does anyone know the identity of the other apron suppliers?
