how to tighten gitzo gt 3530

hi,
I want to tighten the top part of my tripod where the head is mounted, but I couldn't figure it out and so far I could not find any manual or post for doing that.
I have attached a picture; so I guess the part with the red circle should be screwed. after mounting the head, the tripod gets more unstable with the weight. It should be easy I presume but could not find a solution yet

I think you are missing the bolt that fits into the clamping mechanism.

how couldn't I think that! The tripod was like that for a while, so I never thought something was missing. I guess I can fit a bolt from a hardware store, probably I wouldn't need a replacement from gitzo, it is a bolt after all.

i founded the exploded diagram of the tripod, someone may need it in the future.
as you said otto, the bolt is clearly missing (d4040.95)

Just some thoughts in case you're not aware, make sure the bolt thread size is correct (probably metric). A steel bolt can really mess up the threads in an aluminum (?) part. And if the threaded hole in the tripod doesn't go all the way through, then the length of the bolt is a critical dimension.

and you are right jerry, it could mess the threads. I know someone working in the workshop of a industrial design department in a university, probably he has a suitable bolt for that otherwise I will order that from the site.
