(Rolling) Case for Toyo 810M

One strategy that I use in the field is that everything in the bag is stored in its own little bag or box. When packing up to move on, every thing goes back into its bag or box before closing the bag. An empty container means that there is an unaccounted for item to find. This is a manifestation of one or more as-yet undiagnosed conditions (XXX-D) related to attention and memory that can be expensive.

Drew, don't be so hasty; I have one bag for 8x10.
I too have a camera bag fetish, I have bought many of the latest, fanciest cases only to return them or sell them if they didn't meet my current needs.
My particular fancy is for rolling cases, since that is how I prefer to work, and I enjoy all the thought that goes into designing such a case.
Were there a carry-on solution for the Toyo 810M, I'd be all over it, but the camera is just too damn big and heavy!

Ok, I'm having a little too much fun with this, since I'm leaving for Hungary in five weeks.

The first photo is the main compartment: camera, three lenses, meter, loupe and level.
Dark cloth and up to four film holders can go on top of the camera, the case has a good amount of depth.
There's room left in the main compartment for more stuff.
The long strip on the far left side has two photo "baggies", both empty; they act as padding.

Second photo shows the inside lid compartments: empty, except for a few cable releases.

Last photo is the case upright with a can of Dust-Off for scale.

Weight of the case fully loaded, but without the film holders: 16kg (35 lbs)
Five film holders: 3,5kg (7.7 lbs)

For actual overseas travel, I'd take my lenses and film in a small carry-on.
I'd have room to add clothes in the case, given how deep the case is.

Nice! so this goes as checked luggage?

BTW: You will have a good time in Hungary. We visited family there a ew years ago and did day trips from Buda.

Hi Drew,

Yes, this would go as checked luggage; it's too large to go as carry-on.
But it's just large enough to be suitcase and gear case, provided a carry-on is also used.

And this will be my third visit to Hungary; my wife and daughter were both born there, so we go each summer.
Her family is from the eastern part of the country, around Miskolc.
