Epson R2400 Dried up? Is It Reparable?

I’m a newbie to this section of the LF forums and have a newbie-ish question.

I have gotten an Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer. It has sat idle and without ink cartridges for two years or so. I have been told that it cannot be returned to usable condition at any reasonable price.

What are my options regarding this unit?

There are only three types of mounting flanges; too big, too small and wrong thread!
