    Scanner lid for Epson 3200

I bought a used Epson Perfection 2400. Scans 35 and MF just fine, but I still need to scan my 4x5 stuff. What I was thinking was maybe I could find a used junker 3200 that someone wants to sell the transparency lid. Should work I think. I also have a lousy Umax Astra 2200 that scans 4x5 (albeit very poorly). Maybe the lid off that one can be layed over the 4x5 negs on the Epson 2200. As long as I can get the light to turn on it should work. Seems they all use cold cathode tubes. Does anyone know how many tubes they have in the lid of the epson 3200?

    Thanks for your help.

BTW I have tried Epson and they have referred me onto a bunch of "parts" people that only deal in new stuff. For what they want to charge me for the lid I can buy the whole scanner - new!

I don't play the piano, I don't have a beard and I listen to AC/DC in the darkroom. I have no hope as a photographer.

    Scanner lid for Epson 3200

Eric, I would just look for a used 3200. They should be availabe since the newer models introduction. Why would someone sell just the 3200 lid? It's not like car parts.
